I am very glad to see all of you here. I wanted to come to see you in Michigan, but it was not meant to be. The plane instead of flying stayed on the ground. I said to myself, “What will happen now?” Another plane was going to land on the same runway. I wanted so much to come to the Lighthouse, but the other plane was going to land on our runway. So I concentrated on a safe way for the other plane to land. They found a way to divert the incoming plane, to save ourselves and other passengers. They found a way, and the pilot said, “We are all safe, but we are going back to the terminal”. We were safe but it created a big impact on me. I wanted very much to come to the Lighthouse. But it was not meant to be. It was meant for you to come here. When you decided to come, it made me very happy.
Now I want to know from you: how you are going to make a commitment to the Lighthouse. I will be going home to India, because it is very difficult at 94 to continue with all the responsibilities here. So you have to dedicate yourselves to the Lighthouse. The Lighthouse gives light to all the students; in this way your commitment to the Lighthouse is very good. Your commitment is: how to manage yourself and your consciousness. So every day get up in the morning and make a commitment to yourself.
Make the Commitment
This is the beginning of a new day. My good fortune has given me this day to use as I will. I can waste it or use it for good. What I do today is important, because I am exchanging a day of my life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever, leaving in its place something that I have traded for it. I want that to be gain, not loss; good, not evil; success, not failure; so that I shall not regret the price I paid for it.
Dedicate yourself to yourself. You are your own teacher. You are responsible for yourself. Then you know you are for yourself. In the morning and before you go to sleep at night, say, “I will not hurt myself “. One of my students, Mandir, came on our pilgrimage to Sametsikar in Bihar. At that time she was very negative, and was always finding fault with herself. But she decided to come on the trip and gradually began to change. She has become a very positive person and has written may books. Her latest one is The Affirmation Coloring Book, written with Louise Hay. This will be a good book to have for the Center.
So begin and end each day with the positive. No negative thinking, no negative feeling, no negative energy. Negativity takes away your energy, your joy, your peace. Instead of barriers, see possibilities. Make the commitment: I will see good qualities, not bad qualities. It is in my hand.
