The Lighthouse Center Board

As a bridge between East and West, the Lighthouse Center Inc. focuses on supporting people in their spiritual philosophies and journeys. The center is an oasis of peace, well-being and healing. The vibrations at the center are comparable to the ancient places of worship around the world that are peaceful, loving and energizing. This is a meditation center focused on non-violence, reverence for life, and respect for diverse viewpoints. Founded in 1979 by Chetana Catherine Florida and guided spiritually by Gurudev Shree Chitrabhanuji and Pramodaji Chitrabhanu.

The 16 Spiritual Contemplations are known as bhavanas in ancient Sanskrit language.  The practice of bhavanas within meditation and self reflection can be used to invite and visualize more compassion, and appreciation and equanimity and friendship within ourselves and can often be used to guide ourselves to acquire positive changes within ourselves.

Yoga
Our yoga classes are 1 hour and focus on linking breath, movement, chakras and meridians, while inviting strength and flexibility.   Taught with every one in mind, modifications will be provided for each movement, allowing seniors, those recovering from injuries, or anyone in need of a slower pace, the opportunity to build a practice of their own, while more seasoned yogis can refresh and reconnect with theirs. Please bring a yoga mat and block if you own one.
Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra is a sleep-based meditation practice.  It uses the biological process of sleep to help us naturally and effortlessly disengage from our thoughts.  The ancient yogis developed Yoga Nidra to help reduce stress and heal and restore our bodies and minds while supporting the prevention and reversal of conditions such as osteoarthritis, insomnia, brain fog, depression, anxiety, nervous system issues and high blood pressure.

Our Mission

We are committed to inner peace and peace in the world, as we practice meditation and Ahinsa toward ourselves and others. We respect other points of view and strive to live in harmony with nature and all living beings. This is the greatest opportunity for spiritual growth and enlightenment.

Our Philosophy

We believe … in the Divine Consciousness within everyone.

We believe … in Ahinsa, nonviolence, in all of our thoughts, words, and actions, including the practice of a vegan lifestyle.

We believe … that the Truth has many aspects, and we respect other points of view.

We believe … in acting as examples of humanity, as we express our love and compassion and Ahinsa.

We believe … that in doing our meditations and spiritual practices, we begin to successfully live at peace within ourselves and in the world.
